Team Independence was working hard today! The students took their second benchmark in Reading. The math benchmark will be on Wednesday morning.

Team Independence worked on Public Service Announcements reflecting the anti-bullying message! The students created a 20-30 second radio announcement in groups of four. They were quite creative in their endeavors!

Thursday, January 5

Today, the students on Team Independence showed their knowledge about Bud, Not Buddy by answering one of three prompts. The students will be graded on the details they included from the story and on how well they wrote the prompt.

Last Spelling and vocabulary test on Bud, Not Buddy (next spelling list is called "January")
Prompts for Bud, Not Buddy will be completed in-class only
Science Guide questions 1-6 only

Wednesday, January 4th

OLWEUS Training Today

Team Independence practiced making others feel valued today. The students worked in groups of four to produce a skit for the class. Mrs. Haddox's class based their skits on the novel Bud, Not Buddy. Each student did a fantastic job of including each other!

In other news, Christopher Paul Curtis will publish another book based on the Depression. It is called The Mighty Miss Malone. The students hope to gain some insight on what happened to Buddy. The book is due to be available for order on January 10, 2012.
