Today we had the great pleasure of welcoming Mr. Pojeta to Team Coral Sea.  He is a paleontologist for the Smithsonian Institution, and also Carter's grandfather.  We enjoyed learning about the Geological Time Table and seeing all the fossils and specimens.  A big thank-you to Mr. Pojeta!

Currently in math, we are adding, subtracting, multiplying and soon to be dividing decimals.  We will focus on practicing and applying these concepts for the next couple of weeks.

In Science, we wrapped up our unit on weathering and erosion.  Ask your child to sing you the song they learned about the processes of weathering and erosion.  Our next unit in science will be an introduction to geologic time.

November 5th

Team Coral Sea is reading the novel Bud, Not Buddy. The setting is 1936 in Flint, Michigan. Bud, a motherless boy, sets out to find the father he never knew. As he travels, he takes with him his greatest possessions in an old suitcase. Our students brought in their most valuable possessions. Even though these things do not cost a lot of money, they mean a lot to us.
